Friday 11 August – ‘New Regional Park Consultation’ – 12-5pm VC.
The National Trust is exploring the creation of a new 8 Hills Regional Park within Bromsgrove, creating more spaces for wildlife and for you to enjoy. They are inviting your views on projects for people and nature in the regional park, and the improvement of getting around the area.

Sunday 9 July – ‘Bilberry Wake’ – 2.30pm from the VC.
Popular and fun event hosted by TLHS and the Rangers based on the traditional local Wake but for children. A great opportunity to make your own hobby horse then enter races geared to age. Prizes for all entrants and rosettes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each race. And, the adults can have their very own race. Oh, such fun!

Ongoing work to rid this invasive plant in the Park. TLHS invite volunteers for a bashing old time. Please wear protective clothing & footwear – no equipment necessary.

Saturday 27 May – ‘Volunteering Session’ – 10.30-12.30 on Rednal Hill.
Heathland Heroes event – meet Ranger on Rednal Hill in the fire damaged area. The Heroes will be pulling out/trampling newly emerged bracken that restricts bilberry re-growth.  Any glass/litter will also be collected. Please wear suitable clothing/footwear.

Thursday & Sunday 11 & 14 May – ‘Bluebell Walk’ – 10.30-12.00 VC.
A Ranger led walk to see and smell our wonderful English bluebells. Uneven and stoney ground with possible muddy areas over the 2.5 miles. Not to be missed.

Monday 8 May – ‘The Big Help Out’ – 10.30-12.30 on Rednal Hill.
A national event marking the Coronation of King Charles III for volunteers to help in their local communities. Clean up litter & remove potentially wildfire starting broken glass. Bring own gloves & bucket – limited number available.

Tuesday 18 April – ‘The Tudor Bishops of Worcester’ – 7.30pm TC.
Or to give its full title ‘The Tudor Bishops of Worcester: saints, sinners, heretics, refugees, Italian prisoners‘! A talk by Philip Bowen who promises an intriguing insight into the catherdral’s Tudor past. Hosted by TLHLHS with non-members £4.

Sunday 16 April – ‘A Guided Family Walk’ – Cofton Park VC.
Your guide and you will travel back 500 million years when this was a shoreline and we lay in the southern hemisphere! See 250 million year old pebbles washed here from France oil our very own desert. One and half miles – landscape may be rough and muddy in places. Hosted by the LG-C.

Sunday 16 April – ‘Pride of Longbridge’ – Cofton Park.
Enthusiast converged once again on this popular event to celebrate motors. Great opportunity for ex-Austin employees to meet and see a veritable feast of classic, converted and unusual specimens. A selection of vehicles seen at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Commonwealth Games which were built at Longbridge.

Easter Holidays – ‘Easter Egg Trial & Bunny Hunt’ – from the VC.

A talk on the founder of the Birmingham Rep, the Malvern Festival and director at the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre. Hosted by TLHLHS with non-members £4.

Our ever-popular and wholesome family entertainment to start the new year. As usual, all manner of nonsense is planned. Lights, music, drinking, merriment, Mummers Play, hanging sodden toast on trees… Wrap-up warm for this real treat. Bring a noisemaker. You must be there. No, you really must!

This guided walk will take you back 500 million years to an ancient shoreline and evidence of the time we collided with North America! Bring the whole family.

With the devastating fire of July ’22, nature is fighting back with growth on the hill. This offers an opportunity to pull out bracken & grass allowing the reestablishing bilberry to thrive. Following many months of dedicated team from TLHS, along with park rangers, four double-sided information boards were unveiled. One each at Beacon Hill, at the Duck Pond (Old Rose & Crown), at The Fordrough (opp. B/Green Station) and at the Visitor Centre.
